The city of Bridgeport conducted a terrorist drill on November 1.  The drill was devised by the Region 1 DEMHS and simulated hostage taking at the University of Bridgeport.  Over a hundred first responders participated from Bridgeport and surrounding towns.

Derby OEM supplied a mobile command post that served as the amateur radio communications center at the Bridgeport EOC.  This was a temporary accommodation until the communications gear is installed at the new Bridgeport EOC which is expected by year end.  The new EOC has a radio room dedicated to amateur radio communications that will be staffed by GBARC members.

GBARC supplied radio operators to man the Derby command post, man the Red Cross EOC and to support the Red Cross at the University incident site.
