Bridgeport EOC (W1BPT)

GBARC configured, maintains and operates the amateur radio facilities located at the EOC in Bridgeport, Connecticut.  The call sign is W1BPT.  Click for map.

GBARC is colocated in the multi-media room overlooking the operations floor.  The room is sound isolated from the main operations room and a pass-through is provided for exchanging written messages.


Antennas

The antennas are located on the roof of the building and connected to the equipment with over 75 feet of low loss cable.

HF Antenna:
       B&W  BWD-90 Folded Dipole Antenna

VHF/UHF Antennas:

       (1) Diamond X-300 2m/440
       (1) Diamond X-300 2m/440 (for digital)

       MFJ-45 AMP power supply
       ICOM AT-180 autotuner
       West Mountain Radio Rig Blaster
       Heil Headset Pro, with foot switch

V/UHF Voice:
       (2) Yaesu FT-8800R
       (2) Astron SS-30m power supplies
       (2) Heil Headset Pro, with foot switch

Packet Station:
       Yaesu FT-8800R mobile rig
       Astron SS-30m power supply
       Kantronics KPC-3 plus TNC

Scanner:
       Bearcat BC780 Pro

Meters:
       Daiwa CN-801HP (HF)
       Daiwa CN-801V (VHF/UHF)

With remote access to the N1KGN 441.700 MHz repeater in Milford, we are able to provide direct links to other Connecticut repeaters and linked repeater systems as needed.

Additionally, the EOC contains printers, FAX machines and telephones and is powered by diesel generators in the event of a power failure.
